Happy Father's Day to all those wonderful dads out there!!
This is always a bittersweet day for me, but yesterday was full of thoughts about my dad! It has been 14 years since my dad went to be with Jesus and it still hurts sometimes. I was so blessed to have a dad that loved me completely without any conditions. I also had a dad that wasn't afraid to be imperfect. Guess what....he wasn't perfect but he was so many wonderful things. He was hilarious!! I still miss his jokes and quick wit. He was loving! He was a hugger and there are many days that I would do anything to have one of those hugs. I know he would absolutely eat up his grandkids and be a grandfather that doesn't want to miss a thing. He also adored my mom! This is one of my favorite pictures of them. We feel so blessed to have a very loving and involved family. My girls feel completely loved and cherished by their grandparents and extended family. They don't really understand that someone is missing, but I do. Sometimes I don't even really think about it, but sometimes it aches a little that he is not there to share in another "first"or even a "last" for that matter.
My dad would be so proud of the man that I married and the father he is to his girls. Jeremy is continuing the tradition of letting our girls know what it feels like to have an earthly father who loves them unconditionally. Jeremy was born to be a dad. He is amazing! He loves, disciplines, shepherds, coaches, plays and does everything in between. We are so thankful and blessed beyond measure.

awww, sweet erin i love this post. i love the pics of your dad. i thought about all my friends who would be missing their dads- especially you!
What a sweet post--brought tears to my eyes. I think of you every year around the time your dad passed away. I agree--he was a great father. One of my favorite memories of him was him two-stepping with us at the ranch house--I have pictures of that. You are right--he would have been so proud of your family. I know that so many of his special qualities shine through you to your girls. Love you, friend.
Precious friend! I am so glad that your dad was who he was b/c your family, including Nanu are all so important to us - I just HATE that I didn't get to know him here on this earth. And I agree, Jeremy is such an incredible dad and male influence in my girls' lives. We are thankful for each of you!!
This beautifully written Erin--I love your heart.
